Nunki Hassan

Dr Nunki Hassan is a Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellow at the University of Sydney. Her main research interests is to investigate resistant leukemic stem cells in pre-clinical models and to find therapeutic targets which can overcome treatment resistance and relapse in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). She specializes in utilizing novel and emerging technologies based on biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology to investigate cancer patient profiles. Her expertise lies in employing advanced techniques such as single-cell RNA-sequencing to uncover key genetic profiles of AML patients for the purpose of selecting effective targeted therapies. Her research also focuses on investigating molecular mechanisms and genetic variations in patients to tailor therapeutic strategies for improved clinical outcomes in AML. Follow her on Twitter @NunkiHassan and her scientific journey as a mad scientist!
